The judges were hugely impressed with the professional approach taken by this group and their engagement with outside agencies to address the physical activity needs of their practice population. We felt they really captured the essence of the assignment.
They achieved an impressive number of walks before the pandemic disruption and have thought creatively about how the project could be expanded by future groups of students.
Students became trained walk leaders and achieved sustainability through the relationship with the outside agency and through a whatsapp group that continues to be used by walk participants and became self propagating, which is very tough to achieve.
