Lewisham Council

Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) is the national term used to describe the range of serious crime types (including domestic violence) which are predominantly, but not exclusively, experienced by women and girls. Men and boys can also access services that can help them.

Mankind

Our confidential helpline is available for all men across the UK suffering from domestic violence or domestic abuse by their current or former wife or partner (including same-sex partner).

This can range from actual violence or object throwing to mental abuse such as constant bullying or constant insults.

Athena Lewisham

The Athena service, run by Refuge provides confidential, non-judgmental support to those living in the London Borough of Lewisham who are experiencing gender-based violence. It opened its doors in April 2015 and provides outreach programmes, independent advocacy, group support, refuge accommodation and a specialist service for young women.
