Pharmacy First Visit one of the pharmacies taking part in the Pharmacy First scheme. You will be seen promptly by a member of the pharmacy team and you can ask to be seen in private. Some practices use this scheme and may give you a voucher (one per patient) to take to the pharmacy.

Vaccinations, medication and travel advice

Travel Assessment

We offer a full travel advice and immunisation service. If you are travelling abroad please complete and submit the travel form in plenty of time (we recommend at least 4 weeks) before your journey.

You do not always need to go to your GP to get your travel vaccinations as pharmacies and certain clinics also have this service. Please check out the Lewisham Travel Directory for more information.

Do you need vaccinations?

Before you travel, it’s important to find out whether you will need vaccinations for the country you’re visiting. The following websites will help you.

Malaria prevention tablets are no longer prescribed under the NHS. You can still obtain these medications but it will be a private prescription and you do not need to see your GP to get this. Please check the Lewisham Travel Directory to find out where you can get your malaria prevention tablets from, many local pharmacies will be able to do it.
